Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET) was established in 1968 by Government of India under Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers with the assistance of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at Chennai. The main objective of setting up of the institute was to develop manpower in different disciplines of Plastics Engineering & Technology as no similar institute was in existence in the country.
Having head quartered in Chennai, CIPET has 36 centres all over India. Apart from Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programmes in Engineering CIPET also provides Various skill development programs for the benefit of unemployed / unprivileged youth through different Central and State government Agencies. These skill development programmes conducted at CIPET centres are National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) aligned and approved by National Skills Qualifications Committee (NSQC).
The CIPET Head Office was keen about implementing an ERP system that would assist them in the operations of their 25+ Skill Development Training Institutes located across India.
The management also wanted to automate the allocation of funds and generating various reports that are to be submitted to various Statutory bodies in connection with the Skill Development Courses
